Media release | 3 December 2018 Switzerland Travel Centre now in Hong Kong's Causeway Bay – paradise awaits!
Switzerland Travel Centre opened its Hong Kong office on 29 Nov 2018, bringing Swiss lakes, mountains, cable cars, and panoramic trains closer to travelers from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan with expert local service.
Switzerland Travel Centre brings Switzerland 5,000 kilometres closer and right into the heart of Hong Kong. On 29 November, Switzerland Travel Centre Ltd. opened its first office in Asia, in Causeway Bay on Hong Kong Island. It is the response by Switzerland Travel Centre to the growing Asian market. The five experts who are based in Hong Kong know Switzerland down to its last alphorn. The office is overseen by Ling Gao. Having already lived in Switzerland for 18 years, she is eminently qualified to offer advice on the holiday destination of Switzerland and its culture. Prior to this appointment, Ling Gao headed the Asia team for four years at the Switzerland Travel Centre in Zurich. All of the other team members – each of them fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English – also got to sample Switzerland’s sweet air over the summer. During an intensive fourmonth training period, they travelled the length and breadth of Switzerland and familiarised themselves with the company, its products and processes and met other team members. They naturally also visited the most popular tourist destinations as well as those spots only insiders know about – in short, the places many Asian visitors dream of experiencing. It is no coincidence that, in Asia, Switzerland always ranks at the top of the most yearned-for destinations to visit.
Switzerland’s success reaches "Fliggy Shop"
In addition to having a new bricks-and-mortar presence, Switzerland Travel Centre has already flown the Swiss flag prominently online since 2017 on Alibaba’s "Fliggy Shop" where it offers numerous Switzerland highlights: the Swiss Travel Pass for example, as well as mountain excursions to attractions like the Jungfraujoch, Titlis and Gornergrat. Personal customer support for users of the "Fliggy Shop" is provided by Switzerland experts via the website as well as by telephone and a chat application. "In future, we plan to expand our representative office in Hong Kong into an "Asia Hub" that will also service other Asian source markets such as South Korea and Southeast Asia. This will not only allow us to be closer to the booming Asian market, but also guarantee the highest levels of customer service. And by this we mean Swiss quality, as you have come to know and expect from us", explains CEO Michael Maeder, justifying this step. Following the opening in Hong Kong, the expert team for holidays in Switzerland will be present in neighbouring Taiwan on 4 December.
