Media release | April 9, 2025 Switzerland Travel Centre reports record sales for the 2024 financial year

Switzerland Travel Centre posted a record result for 2024, with a 7% increase to 118 million Swiss Francs. North American demand grew, and multi-day panoramic train tours stayed popular. Management changes are expected in 2025.

Switzerland Travel Centre, the official and largest tour operator for Switzerland, has reported the most successful year in their history.  The Switzerland specialist increased their booking volume by 8 million Swiss Francs from around 110 million Swiss Francs in 2023 to 118 million Swiss Francs in the 2024 financial year.  Hotel accommodation sales to tour operators worldwide increased significantly while customisable package holidays, including public transport and attractive hotels, remained very popular.

The North American, German and UK markets contributed significantly to this increase.  Guests from Switzerland also continued to book their holidays with the Switzerland specialists.  Demand from Asia remained in line with the previous year’s figures, although travellers from China were rather cautious in 2024.

Switzerland can be expensive, particularly for international visitors.  Travellers from North America often opt for higher hotel or room categories when booking online.  Australian travellers on the other hand, prefer to upgrade their Swiss Travel Pass to first class.

“2024 was a very successful year for us.  In addition to record sales, we have positioned ourselves well for the future with a new logo, corporate design and website” said Michael Maeder, CEO of Switzerland Travel Centre.

Management changes in Stuttgart and Zurich

Harald Hausmann, long-standing head of the Stuttgart office, will retire in the summer.  He will be succeeded by Igor Medic who, until now, has been responsible for FIT business at the Swiss specialist in Germany.

Oliver Tamàs, Head of Marketing & Booking Technology at the Zurich office, will leave the company in June to establish himself as a Consultant in Tourism, Marketing and E-commerce.
