Day 1

Individual arrival in Zurich. Overnight stay in Zurich

Highlights: Lake of Zurich, Old Town, Museums (Landesmuseum, FIFA, Kunsthaus), Casino, Uetliberg, Grossmünster Church

Day 2

Zurich - St. Gallen / approx. 150 km

Pick-up your electric rental car (for 8 days) if added. Drive from Zurich via the Rhine Falls to St. Gallen. Overnight stay in St. Gallen.

Highlights: Rhine Falls (largest waterfall in Europe), traffic-free Old Town of St. Gallen, Abbey Library (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

Day 3

St. Gallen - St. Moritz / approx. 219 km

Journey from St. Gallen to St. Moritz. Overnight stay in St. Moritz.

Highlights: The village of Appenzell, Heidi-Dorf in Maienfeld, the highest town in Europe - Davos, Flüela Pass, world famous St. Moritz

Day 4

St. Moritz - Lugano / approx. 233 km

The journey continues into the picturesque town of Lugano, with its Mediterranean climate and 'dolce vita' feel. Overnight stay in Lugano.

Highlights: Tip: Extend your stay and visit the region: Bernina Express rail experience with the famous Brusio circular viaduct, hike on the Muottas Muragl

Day 5

Lugano - Zermatt / ca. 260 km

Journey from Lugano via Ascona and Bellinzona over the St. Gotthard and Furka passes towards Täsch. From there you take the train to the car-free Zermatt. Overnight stay in Zermatt.

Highlights: Monte Brè, Ascona, castles of Bellinzona, Aletsch Glacier (23 km longest glacier in the Alps)

Day 6

Zermatt - Lausanne / approx. 180 km

Journey from Zermatt and Täsch along the river Rhone through the Valais via Sion and Martigny to Montreux and Lausanne. Overnight stay in Lausanne.

Highlights: Zermatt, Gornergrat, Castle Chillon, lake Geneva, vineyards in Lavaux, Olympic Museum in Lausanne

Day 7

Lausanne - Gruyère - Freiburg - Interlaken / approx. 173 km

Journey from Lausanne to medieval Freiburg, through the Gruyère region to Interlaken. Overnight stay in Interlaken.

Highlights: medieval old town Freiburg with Gothic facades and the 74 metre high cathedral tower, Gruyère region with cheese dairy, chalet village Gstaad, Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau

Day 8

Interlaken - Bern - Lucerne / approx. 240 km

The journey continues from Interlaken via Bern, Emmental and Entlebuch past Sempbacher lake to Lucerne. Overnight stay in Lucerne.

Highlights: Lake Brienz, Lake Thun, Bern Old Town (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

Day 9

Lucerne - Zurich / approx. 140 km

Drive from Lucerne via Rapperswil along Lake Zurich to Zurich. Return of the rental car.

  • Where applicable, hotel parking charges are payable locally.
