Are the times for trains and excursions fixed?

With the Bernese Oberland Pass , which can be booked as an option , you can use mountain railways free of charge and explore hiking trails and excursion destinations in the region at your own pace. Whether hiking, panoramic drives, or relaxing – you decide how you want to spend your time. No seat reservation is necessary and you can select your connections conveniently via the SBB app or online .

What is included in the Bernese Oberland Pass?

The Bernese Oberland Pass offers free travel on most train, bus, and boat lines from Bern, Lucerne, Saanen, Domodossola, Montreux, and throughout the Bernese Oberland. You can also use over 25 mountain railways , including cable cars and cog railroads. The pass also includes boat trips on Lakes Thun and Brienz. The trip to the Jungfraujoch is included up to Grindelwald/Wengen. After that, there is a 25% discount on the trip to the Eiger Glacier, and the connecting ticket to the Jungfraujoch is available at a special price . The pass is available for 3, 4, 6, 8 or 10 consecutive days . Add it at the end of your booking and experience the Bernese Oberland stress-free by train, bus, boat, and mountain railroads.

What can I do in bad weather?

In bad weather, the mountain railroads are usually still in operation , but there may be restrictions. Alternatively, you can take advantage of indoor activities and local events , such as visits to museums or wellness offers . It is best to find out about current events and offers independent of the weather directly on site at the tourist office .

How far in advance should I book?
