Your itinerary
Day 1
Geneva – Montreux / approx. 1 h
Individual travel to Montreux by public transport. After arrival, make your way to Chillon Castle where you get to see one of the best preserved medieval castles in Europe, which is located on a rock on the banks of Lake Geneva (optional). In the afternoon an excursion to the UNESCO protected vineyards of the Lavaux is included. This region is known for its centuries old wine making traditions. Enjoy a wine tasting in tranquility surrounded by stepped terraces and views out to the lake and the Alps. Overnight in Montreux.

Day 2
Montreux
Todays excursion is all about two of the most famous Swiss exports all around the world, chocolate and cheese. From Montreux you will head to Gruyeres by train where you get to experience the show dairy at La Maison Gruyeres. In the afternoon, visit La Maison Cailler, the oldest chocolate factory in Switzerland.

Day 3
Montreux – Lugano / approx. 4h50
After two nights in the french speaking part of Switzerland it's time to discover another language region of Switzerland, which is the Italian speaking part. By train you will travel through the Valais to Domodossola in Italy, where you board the panoramic Centovalli train that takes you through Italy to Locarno and the Italian speaking part of Switzerland. After a short train journey to Lugano, the biggest city of Ticino, you will take part in a Risotto Workshop in a typical Ticino style Grotto. A short boat ride across the lake takes you to Grotto San Rocco, where the host will provide you with all the ingredients and tools to cook your own classic "Grotto Risotto", which will be accompanied by a local wine. Enjoy your meal on the terrace overlooking the lake and twinking lights of Lugano in the distance. From September until December the Risotto workshop will take place in the city centre of Lugano without the lake cruise.

Day 4
Lugano – Lucerne / approx. 1h40
Arround noon you get to enjoy a guided city tour of Lugano, were you make several stops to enjoy various specialities from Ticino, including the famous and delicious white Merlot. After the tour you will travel to Lucerne by train, one of the most famous destinations in Switzerland.

Day 5
Lucerne – Bern / approx. 1h30
Start your day with a guided city walking tour of Lucerne where you learn important and humorous facts about the history of Lucerne and the everyday life of it's residents.
From Lucerne, you travel to the Emmental region to Affoltern im Emmental, which is home to the world famous Emmentaler Cheese. Here you get to enjoy the "Königsweg" experience, which is an interactive tour through the factory, you get to see how Swiss cheese is made and also get to try some. At the end of your day, travel to Bern, the Swiss capital.

Day 6
Bern
Explore Switzerland's capital with a guided walking city tour in Bern's old town in the morning.
Your afternoon today will be at leisure, enjoy your last day in Switzerland by buying some souvenirs in the famous Old Town or enjoy a beer in one of the 200 breweries and microbreweries which make Bern the Beer Capital of Switzerland.
