Your Itinerary
Day 1
Zurich
Arrive by public transport or optional private transfer. You'll have free time in Zurich to explore the vibrant streets of the old town, immerse yourself in its cosmopolitan atmosphere, and enjoy the abundance of cafes and restaurants along the river and lakeside. Overnight in Zurich.

Day 2
Zurich - Appenzell - Chur / approx. 170 km
Gather and meet your driver for your first trip to the historical town of Appenzell, where you get to experience one of Switzerland's most iconic specialities, cheese. You also have some free time in the town to explore. After a lunch break your driver will take you to Chur, where the remainder of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Chur.

Day 3
Chur
Begin with a morning city tour in Chur and learn all there is to know about Switzerland's eldest town. After lunch travel to the Landwasser Viaduct where you can witness its true scale from down below. Following this you join the RhB Historical Train, comprising carriages predominantly from the 1920s hauled by a historic electric locomotive. This takes you to Davos, from where you return to Chur with your driver. Overnight in Chur.

Day 4
Chur - Realp - Brig / approx. 160 km
The driver will take you from Chur to Realp, from where you will experience the historical Furka Steam Railway, running over a line that was left redundant following the opening of the Furka Base Tunnel. At Oberwald, rejoin the sprinter and proceed onwards to Brig. Upon arrival in Brig there is time for a tour of the Stockalper Castle, named after its builder, a rich entrepreneur who had a monopoly on road traffic in Switzerland in the 17th century. Overnight in Brig.

Day 5
Brig - Lucerne / approx. 140 km
Travel northwards towards Lucerne, where the afternoon is at leisure. In the evening then board a historical paddle steamer for a 2.5 hour sunset cruise on the lake. Overnight in Lucerne.

Day 6
Lucerne - Brienz - Interlaken / approx. 100 km
Today begin the first of two days in the Bernese Oberland. At the lakeside resort of Brienz, join the scenic Brienzer Rothorn Railway for the trip to the 2200 metre high summit. You have time at the summit to have lunch before returning to Brienz, rejoining your driver and transferring to Interlaken, your base for the next two days. Overnight in Interlaken.

Day 7
Brünig Steam Railway
Today you have an all day excursion aboard the historic Brünig Steam Railway, running along the tracks of the modern day Zentralbahn to Giswil. Enjoy travelling behind two different steam locomotives, including over the steep gradients of the Brünig Pass. A bar car is available on the train and refreshments are provided during the turnaround in Giswil. Overnight in Interlaken.

Day 8
Interlaken - Zurich / approx. 120 km
Your tour wraps up today. Travel by road toward Zurich, either to the main station or Zurich Airport. Bid a final farewell to your fellow adventurers, whether you're moving forward with your holiday or heading back home.
