Chur- Zermatt - Lugano - Chur (or vice versa)

Day 1
Travel by public transport from your starting point in Switzerland to Chur. Overnight stay in Chur.
Highlights: Brambrüesch - the local mountain, the old town
Day 2
Chur - Zermatt / approx. 6 h
Travel on the Glacier Express from Chur to Zermatt. Overnight stay in Zermatt.
Highlights: Drive over the Oberalp Pass, the Rhine Gorge - the "Grand Canyon of Switzerland".
Day 3
Zermatt - Lugano / approx. 5h 15 min
Travel by regional trains and the Centovalli Railway from Zermatt to Lugano. Overnight stay in Lugano.
Highlights: LAC Art and Culture Centre, Parco Civico Ciani - lakeside park, Monte Brè, Monte San Salvatore, Church of Santa Maria degli Angioli, Old Town of Lugano.
Day 4
Lugano - Chur
Travel on the Bernina Express bus from Lugano to Tirano. Onward journey from Tirano on the Bernina Express train to Chur. Overnight stay in Chur.
Highlights: Highest railway line over the Alps, Alp Grüm, Lago Bianco, Brusio circular viaduct, Tirano in Italy
Day 5
Return journey by public transport to your final destination in Switzerland or extend your stay.
