SWISS International Airlines

Arrival by air

Many airlines fly from the UK to Switzerland. The most common and useful airports to connect with a train transfer, which is usually included in our holiday packages, are Zurich, Geneva, Basel or Bern. Our agents can advise on the best connection, so please call.

SWISS is the airline of Switzerland and the preferred choice for flights to Switzerland, but we can book any airline.

Arrival by train

Travelling by train is both comfortable and relaxing. From your starting point in the UK many Swiss destinations can be reached within a day’s travel.

The quickest route is with Eurostar and the high-speed TGV from London St Pancras via Paris Gare de Lyon which connects at Basel, Lausanne or Geneva with the highly efficient and integrated Swiss transport system. This is relaxed, independent travel at its best, with onward Swiss rail services connecting with boats and post buses to take you to the remotest of places.

There are other international rail routes possible via Belgium and Germany, however, these are less direct and will take you longer.

Because many of our holiday packages include rail connection from your point of entry into Switzerland to your holiday start point, the train can be a great way to arrive. Plus it is the most environmentally friendly method of International travel.

Our rail experts can organise International rail tickets of any kind, so please call even if for tickets only.

Grand Tour of Switzerland

Arrival by car

The roads in Switzerland are well developed and easily accessible from international railways if you would like to rent a car. We also offer an E-Grand Tour for self-drive enthusiasts.

In addition, many people may also consider driving to Switzerland at this time. Although a long trip from Calais to Switzerland (853 km, 8.5 hrs according to Google maps), it can be a safe and enjoyable way to travel.

Please note, however, that you need a vignette to use the motorway. This is valid from 1 December of the previous year to 31 January of the following year (printed on the vignette).
