Day 1

Zurich

Arrive by public transport or optional private transfer. You'll have free time in Zurich to explore the vibrant streets of the old town, immerse yourself in its cosmopolitan atmosphere, and enjoy the abundance of cafes and restaurants along the river and lakeside. Overnight in Zurich.

Day 2

Zurich - Rhine Falls - St. Gallen / approx: 120 km

Gather and meet your driver, embarking on a road journey with your fellow explorers to the majestic Rhine Falls, the largest waterfalls in Europe. Following that, continue your road trip to the charming city of St. Gallen in the eastern part of the country. Here, a guided tour of the city awaits, including a visit to the renowned UNESCO Abbey Library. Overnight in St. Gallen.

Lugano - Andermatt - Glacier Express - Zermatt / approx: 215 km

Day 6

Zermatt & Gornergrat

Day 7

Zermatt - Domaine Bovy - Montreux / approx: 135 km

Journey through the cantons of Valais and Vaud to the French-speaking region of Switzerland. Here you will be treated to an afternoon wine tasting at the delightful Domaine Bovy. A short transfer follows to Montreux - often referred to as the ‘Swiss Riviera’. Overnight in Montreux.

Day 8

Montreux - GoldenPass Express - Interlaken - Grindelwald - Lenk / approx: 220 km

Today, enjoy an awe-inspiring train voyage aboard the GoldenPass Express, guiding you from the tranquil shores of Lake Geneva through picturesque mountain vistas and enchanting valleys adorned with vibrant flora. Your journey culminates in the adventure-filled haven of Interlaken in the Bernese Oberland. The Cabrio will then transfer you to Grindelwald where time at leisure is allowed. Alternatively after arrival, visit Europe’s highest altitude railway station at the Jungfraujoch (additional cost). The Cabrio will then take you to Lenk for the first of two overnights at a resort hotel. Overnight in Lenk.

Day 9

Lenk - Day at leisure

Today the programme is at leisure, and if desired you can remain in Lenk or at the hotel for the entire day to relax and unwind.
There is an option to travel to the Glacier 3000 in the Cabrio (additional cost), just a 45 minute drive from Lenk. Climb aboard the cable cars for a quick and easy ride to the summit. Here there are a wide array of activities including the Peak Walk suspension bridge, dogsled ride and even an alpine coaster. On the return to Lenk, time is allowed to stop in the resort of Gstaad to explore and shop as you see fit. Overnight in Lenk.

Day 10

Lenk - Lucerne / approx: 150 km

Your driver will drive you to Lucerne via the Brünig mountain pass. In Lucerne you can enjoy your afternoon and evening at leisure. Overnight in Lucerne.

Day 11

Lucerne - Zurich / approx: 50 km

our tour wraps up today. Travel by road toward Zurich, either to the main station or Zurich Airport. Bid a final farewell to your fellow adventurers, whether you're moving forward with your holiday or heading back home.

Good to know

  • Travel documents are sent by email and in exceptional cases by post.
  • Insurance: Insurance is not included in this trip. We recommend that you take out cancellation insurance when booking.
  • Accommodations: Accommodations are in 4* hotels of our choosing (part of the STC hotel portfolio), apart from Interlaken where a 5* hotel has been confirmed. This cannot be changed.
  • Program: The program of this trip has an experiential character. Customers who value a lot of relaxation should consider this when booking. This is a join-in group tour with a maximum capacity of 12 passengers. A guide will transfer you in a luxury Mercedes Benz Sprinter Cabrio (large retractable roof) and all rail journeys will be in 1st class with the group sitting together.
  • Accessibility: This trip is not recommended for wheelchair users or people with walking difficulties.
  • Altitude: Please note that on this trip you will be at high altitude and therefore in thin air. The places of stay are between about 1400 and 1800 m above sea level and on excursions you will reach over 3000 m above sea level. You should therefore enjoy good health - in case of doubt please ask your family doctor.
  • Excursions: Since there will be some walking during the trip (cobblestones, uneven paths), we ask you to bring suitable sturdy footwear. If you have difficulties walking and/or getting on and off the bus or train, please contact us before you start your trip.
  • Luggage Transport: Luggage transportation is provided with the limit of 1 large suitcase and 1 smaller hand luggage that can be placed under your seat. The driver will assist where possible with your luggage. You must take your own luggage on the Glacier Express from Andermatt to Zermatt.
  • It is not mandatory to tip the guide, however, it is at your entire discretion if you choose to do so.
