What is the difficulty level of this hiking tour?

For this alpine hike, you need to be good on your feet, have a head for heights and be in good physical condition . In inclement weather, you can shorten some sections of the route by bus or cable car. Further details on the Via Alpina route and a detailed map can be found at SwitzerlandMobility.

Can I customise the duration of the trip?

How does the luggage transport work?

Luggage transport is provided by a reliable partner. During the tour, please leave your luggage at reception by 09:00 . It will be at the next accommodation by 18:00 . Luggage tags are usually left for you when checking it at the first overnight stop. Only one piece of luggage with a maximum weight of 20 kg is allowed per person.

What can I do in bad weather?

Our hiking tours are suitable for all weather conditions . We recommend that you are prepared for cooler temperatures and changeable conditions. Pack weatherproof clothing so that you can still enjoy the hike even in less ideal conditions .

Arrival in Meiringen

Itinerary

Travel to Meiringen by public transport. Enjoy the journey and discover the surroundings en route.

Day 2

Hike from Meiringen to Grindelwald

Itinerary

Take the postbus to Rosenlaui. From there, the hike starts via Grosse Scheidegg to Grindelwald with views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

Day 3

Hike from Grindelwald to Wengen

Itinerary

The hike first takes you past the north face of the Eiger to Kleine Scheidegg. Shortly afterwards, you leave the hustle and bustle behind you and hike along easy paths to Wengen.

Day 4

Hike from Wengen to Pochtenalp or Griesalp

Itinerary

You take the train via Lauterbrunnen to Mürren. The route takes you to the Rotstockhütte and on to the Sefinenfurgge. Look forward to a spectacular day!

Day 5

Hike Pochtenalp or Griesalp to Kandersteg

Itinerary

You tackle the ascent to Hohtürli at 2,843 m above sea level. At the Blüemlisalphütte, enjoy a well-earned lunch before descending to Oeschinensee.
