Tour characteristics
The high-altitude hike between Saas Fee and Grächen is particularly difficult. Along the Balfrin Höhenweg there are exposed sections for which surefootedness and a head for heights are required. The hikes over the many passes lead into alpine terrain at up to 3,000 metres. The long stages require good basic fitness and experience in alpine hiking.
